2016// review+reflect

Hello 2017- you are finally here. Mmmmm I just love the look of those numbers- 2017 is feeling fine, and it is barely here.

I know that we all were suffering under the weight of 2016- it felt far too long, too hard and perhaps too much of an uphill battle. Before I close that book on 2016, I like to look back and get grateful for the year. It’s a reminder of how much happened, what was conquered, and sets me up to absolutely slay 2017.

Jan- Rang in the year with a swim, brought in turning 30 with a 5 k run and just kicked off the year with a refreshed focus on myself and my health.

Feb- Riding the rollercoaster of life, my husband got a new job. It was a time of exhale and celebration.

Mar- We committed to the Whole 30, a month of no booze, soy, gluten, dairy, sugar, additives… basically just veg and protein. It was amazing, and I highly recommend everyone try it.

Apr- The boat that we traded our condo for finally launched, after a season of dreaming and working on it. That set us up for an amazing summer afloat.

May- Wrapped up my coach training with an epic weekend surrounded by my coachy tribe.

June- Return to running- 10k in the books.

July- After working for someone else for eight years, I decided to commit to myself and developed a plan to leave my job and start my own company. It was a sneaky, crafty, stressful time. But I’m so glad I did it.

Aug- Had my very last day at that job, left and registered my very own company, SALT+COMPANY

Sep- Settled into that new biz life, taking on an amazing client that saw me traveling and hustling every single day of September

Oct- Honeymoon 2.0 in Costa Rica. Nothing more to say on that.

Nov- Rooted into our new place, achieving full homebody status. Truly felt like things were falling into place.

Dec- Got to celebrate Christmas Day with my family, the first time in three years.

What a year. And I’m betting that your 2016 has some amazing elements too. Here is what I did—write out the months of year, scroll through your phone and try to remember where you were and what you were doing. Pick the things that make you smile or reflect. Write them down and give yourself a boost—you were truly amazing.
